Spaces for discussion
Within this thematic axis, the Forum will promote the following discussion spaces with mayors, experts and strategic sectors:
• Discussion: Environmental justice: a look at climate change and its impact on human mobility.
• Lab: How to address climate migration from the policy responses of local governments?
Reading and socialization
• Climate change and its impact on human mobility: The increase in extreme weather events forces people to leave their homes due to loss of livelihoods, environmental degradation and lack of basic resources. These conditions displace people internally within their own countries or even force them to migrate to other regions or countries in search of security, opportunities and more sustainable living conditions.
• Interdependence between humans and the environment: Human well-being and peace are closely linked to the health and integrity of the environment. Environmental degradation, climate change, pollution and other environmental problems can have negative consequences for human security, natural resources and ecological balance.
• Conflicts related to natural resources: Many conflicts in the world are related to competition and access to natural resources, such as water, land, minerals and forests. These conflicts can lead to tensions and violent confrontations. The forum will analyze and discuss the problems and challenges associated with natural resource conflicts, as well as share good practices and strategies to prevent and resolve these conflicts peacefully.
